Sućuraj is a picturesque small tourist and fishing town and port, it is the most eastern and the closest place to the mainland of the island of Hvar. Thanks to its location, the place has a coast on both sides of the island. Traditional crafts related to land and sea are cherished by the people of Sućuraj even today, so every guest in one of Sućuraj's restaurants will be able to enjoy and feel the quality of local wine, oil, brandy, fish and various other local specialties that will not leave even the biggest gourmets indifferent.
Numerous beaches in bays, whether they are located in the area of Sućuraj or in its immediate surroundings, will allow everyone to find their own space under the sun. The bay of Perna, 1.5 km from the town, and the bay of Mlaska, 3 km from the town, are a unique rarity on the Adriatic because both bays have fine natural sand in the sea, which is not found anywhere else in the area. The sea is crystal clear, and the temperatures are pleasant for swimming from May to October.
There are several shops, restaurants and bars in the village.
